This makes me think a very little of a small shot I tried myself with a similar idea… Nothing like this of course... I love this work. I think the two best points are the hand and the ribs, they really convey that feeling of that cage of bones, taught and clear, standing out like the bars of the cell, there is an intense feeling of weight and the way she covers her eyes and yet seems to be stretch away and a search for an escape from these colourless doldrums… Lungs are heaving shallow against the still air. The colour really adds a lot to that dull mind numbing intensity, it’s sickly and crushing, wretched like a deathly cry of despair while the hand covers the wound… I’d like to say more but I think It’s enough, it’s really a brilliant piece of work that is able to use the flesh to convey some very powerful feelings in a way that makes me concentrate solely on them, without being constantly lost in the physical aspect, and that, that is extremely hard to do. My mind was caged. Bravo.
